Manu Chao + Madjid Fahem, acoustic, Radio Nova (France) 2006. Medley of Amalucada Vida, FUNABEM, Circo da Madrugada and Cabra da Peste. Manu is a genius for sure and his songs are beautiful and strong -- but the delicacy, agility and sweetness of Madjid's guitar accompaniment are breathtaking.

The most comprehensive single work on the development of America's sheep industry. It is fortunate that a man of Colonel Wentworth's industry, broad acquaintance, and talent undertook the colossal job of recording the beginnings, developments, and changing fortunes of the sheep industry in the United States. That is the scope of America's Sheep Trails, a monumental work with many pictures and abundant references to sources of data. The trails by which sheep spread from places of importation and...

This four-part series on Israeli spying in the United States is pretty shocking. It originally aired on Fox News in December 2001. The videos remained on the Fox News web site for just a couple of days after the fourth installment before being taken down without comment -- in other words, being censored. Fox News must have received a great deal of pressure from Israel and the US government to completely throw away the efforts of this investigation. "Old news" at this point, perhaps,...

This is the music of Joe Sanchez (1937-1976) and his band The Truth, recorded between 1966-1968 in Los Angeles. Most of it was never formally released, but the master tapes were bootlegged around and published on at least two different albums (without correct attribution, and with varying song titles). "Momentarily Gone" and "P.S. (Prognosis Stegnosis)" were released in 1968 as 45 rpm promotional singles and are noted to have been produced by Dave Hassinger. An...

A few "home movies" from the University of Wyoming's much larger digital collection of George Bain's short films. Bain managed the LU sheep ranch in northern Wyoming and was a keen amateur film-maker. These films show family and work life on the ranch, as well as good times with family & friends at Jackson Hole and up in the Big Horns, annual parades and rodeos and other occasions. The University's collection of 69 short films can be found here:...

Short excerpts from George Bain's home movies (1930s-1950s). These were digitized in 2013 by the University of Wyoming. digitalcollections.uwyo.edu:8180/luna/servlet/s/302zka It's a bit "pokey" (pardon the pun) to view them there, so I also put five of the films here (without edits) for your viewing pleasure: archive.org/details/life-on-a-wyoming-sheep-ranch-1940s
